The event explores the interconnected challenges of justice, gender equality, and climate change, with a focus on defending rights, protecting civic space, and strengthening accountability, particularly for marginalized communities. It highlights the role of progressive international legal approaches in supporting civil society action and addressing these challenges in practice. The discussion will consider concrete legal and advocacy responses within criminal justice systems and beyond, while reaffirming the importance of international solidarity and people-centered approaches to justice. While looking ahead to collective action, the session also offers a moment to remember and celebrate Evelyn Dürmayer, whose commitment to international solidarity and justice will continue to inspire this shared work.
