There is no doubt that the EU's decision to include 'cases comparable to ecocide' in its revised environmental crimes directive has captured global attention at the highest level. We are already seeing new domestic ecocide bills being proposed every few weeks and, as with Belgium in March, countries getting legislation over line and onto statute books, but things have ramped up considerably at the international level - where our sights remain firmly set.
